Financial Literacy Summit 2026: Empowering financial futures through data and AI

On April 2026, Patascore, in partnership with Pezesha, hosted the second edition of the Financial Literacy Summit (FLS 2026), building on the success of its inaugural event. Held under the theme “Stronger Together,” the summit convened key stakeholders across the financial ecosystem, including regulators, fintechs, lenders, and impact-driven organizations, with a unified goal: to explore how data and AI-powered financial literacy can create a stronger, more inclusive financial ecosystem

As financial ecosystems evolve rapidly, FLS 2026 served as a platform to align industry players around sustainable, responsible credit practices and the role of technology in bridging access gaps for underserved communities, particularly MSMEs.

FLS 2026 featured a dynamic lineup of keynote speakers, panelists, and moderators from leading institutions across Africa’s financial and technology sectors.

The summit opened with a keynote address by Mary Wamae, who underscored the evolving role of financial literacy in a data-driven world. She highlighted the need to move beyond traditional approaches and embrace digital tools and AI-powered solutions to deliver scalable, personalized financial education

Subsequent sessions explored how financial literacy directly influences credit access and repayment behavior among MSMEs. Panelists emphasized that informed financial behavior generates valuable alternative data, which in turn enables more accurate and inclusive credit assessments. Discussions centered around: The future of AI-driven credit underwriting, balancing access to credit with responsible lending practices, overcoming barriers to MSME financing and the importance of ecosystem partnerships in scaling impact

A recurring theme across sessions was clear: no single player can solve financial inclusion alone. Sustainable progress will depend on intentional collaboration between fintechs, traditional financial institutions, and enablers.

At the core of the summit was the continued advancement of Elimiza, a AI-powered financial education platform co-developed by Patascore and Pezesha. Elimiza remains a key driver in equipping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with:

·         Personalized financial literacy tools.

·         Smart credit management insights.

·         Behavioral nudges that encourage responsible borrowing.

By integrating education with access to credit, the platform is actively shaping more resilient, creditworthy businesses.

In addition to credit scoring, Patascore’s ecosystem offers embedded financial infrastructure solutions, including:KYC verification, bank and mobile money statement analysis, fraud detection systems and automated loan management tools. These capabilities are designed to help financial institutions scale MSME lending efficiently, responsibly, and at lower operational cost.

The success of FLS 2026 was made possible through the support of our valued partners and sponsors, whose commitment to financial inclusion continues to drive meaningful change. We extend our sincere appreciation to: Stanbic Foundation, Tala, Lami, TransUnion, Power.io and other ecosystem partners. Their continued investment in innovation and inclusion is helping unlock new opportunities for MSMEs across the continent.

FLS 2026 reaffirmed the critical role of collaboration, technology, and education in shaping the future of inclusive finance.

As Patascore and Pezesha continue to deepen their impact, the focus remains on building scalable solutions that empower businesses, strengthen financial ecosystems, and drive sustainable economic growth.

The journey continues, and together, we go further.
